MPA Skills colloboratively works with The Workplace Gender Equality Agency, who provide advice, practical tools and education to help improve gender equality in Australian workplaces.

The Plumbing Industry Skills and Technology Company Inc (PPISTC) was established in 1993 as a joint initiative of the Master Plumbers and Mechanical Services Association of Western Australia. In a tripartite agreement with the Unions and the State Government in 1999 PPISTC consolidated and became the Plumbing and Painting Training Company trading as MPA Skills. In 1998 the arrival of the User Choice federal initiative allowed MPA Skills to grow.
In 1993 MPA Skills constructed a multipurpose workshop to assist with simulated training.
Further in 1993 MPA Skills opened its Bayswater Campus in Durham Road, Bayswater where the majority of plumbing training is conducted. The Bayswater campus underwent some major renovations and improvements and was officially opened in May 2010.
During 2012 MPA Skills opened its south of the river campus at Jandakot where plumbing & painting training is conducted.
Since opening, MPA Skills has achieved unprecedented success and is now one of the largest, private industry training provider organization in Australia with a broad based, dynamic curriculum, a history of over 20,000 students and an enviable reputation for innovative excellence.
